Ninety Minutes In Heaven
by Don Piper, co-authored by Cecil Murphey

Having read several "after death" books written by folks who claim to have died and come back to tell us about it, I was skeptical of this one. The other books were consistently far from the revelation given us in the Bible and diametrically opposed to the words of our Savior regarding eternal life. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me".

Most of such books spoke of a white light and a warm acceptance for all persons, regardless of the life previously lived. None ever acknowledged the cross and Christ's death on that instrument of death as the basis for such an acceptance. In fact, such books are the deception of Satan who plays into the belief of the natural man that he is good and worthy of Heaven! No wonder Paul warns that "Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light" (2 Co. 11-14, KJV)! So it was with a good deal of skepticism that I picked up this book, initially just to confirm my suspicion that it was another fraud.

I am happy to say that I soon changed my mind! I bought the book and could not put it down as this cliché` proved itself useful once again! I could find nothing that was anti-scriptural or not in keeping with Biblical Christianity.

The truth is, that even if Don had NOT gone to Heaven, it would still be a wonderful, encouraging book for those seeking true meaning in a life of pain. One does not even have to believe in Don's Celestial visit in order to benefit from the tremendous insights into living a life of victory here and now in Christ.

I believe the book divides nicely into three parts. The first part has to do with the circumstances of Don's life, culminating in his visit to Heaven.

The second part had to do with his return to a life dramatically changed. From a healthy, athletic young father and husband, a can-do type of individual involved in full time ministry, Don went to the helplessness of a new born babe. Added to his depression inducing dependency was constant pain. All of the preceding was made even more unbearable by the nagging question, why?

The last part of the book (approximately a third of the whole) answers that question. To everyone who suffers, to everyone who asks that same question, this book responds with compassion, understanding and heart-changing faith in the promises of God.

But meet Don for yourself! Click on this link to go to his website and watch his video. Let this dear brother minister to your needs or someone you know, to the glory of the God of compassion.
